Homes can be full of joy, but for many, home is just the opposite - a place of heartache, despair, and chaos. This becomes even more challenging to navigate during the holiday season, when emotions often run high and family conflict can come to a boiling point.
Join us for an afternoon exploring common characteristics of high-conflict homes, safety considerations, and ethical components.
During this 3-hr presentation, we will be exploring the following:
Identify common characteristics of High-Conflict home environments
Understand the health implications of high-conflict home environments
Assess covert safety concerns of high-conflict home dynamics
Identify Ethical Considerations regarding Duty to Warn, Mandatory reporting, and the therapeutic relationship
Connect clients with local resources to support healthy home life
Some of the issues included in this presentation include:
Addiction and substance abuse in the home
Homelessness/lack of stable housing
Severe mental illness in the home environment
Domestic violence
Suicidal Ideation & Self-Harm
