Best Practices when Treating Trauma and related conditions

Addiction is far bigger than substance abuse, and far more insidious than impacting a single individual. Addiction can look like over-working, obsessive cleaning, codependency, impulsive shopping, or over-indulging on sweets - repeatedly, without thought, and to the detriment of one's emotional, mental, physical, and social wellbeing. Through this training, we'll seek to demystify some of the common misconceptions about addiction and substance dependency and explore how to engage all impacted individuals in process of recovery.
During this 5-hr presentation, we will be exploring the following:
Define substance dependency vs behavioral addictions
Identify methods of assessment for different settings
Discuss modes of therapeutic intervention, including levels of care
Explore the impacts of addiction on families and communities, and how to address
